CLIENT: MRCB
SERVICE PROVIDED: ENGINEER TO THE CONTRACT
COMPLETION: TBC
VALUE: $450 million
Situated above City Rail Link’s Te Waihorotiu Station on the corner of Mayoral Drive and Wellesley Street in Auckland, the $450 million Symphony Centre is an urban regeneration project comprising 21 storeys of retail, residential and commercial spaces.
When complete, Te Waihorotiu Station will be one of Auckland’s busiest train stations. The Symphony Centre has been designed to integrate with the transport hub and the adjacent Aotea Arts Quarter to cater for the variety of patrons who will use the space, offering opportunities to live, work and relax in a single structure. In what will be New Zealand’s first transport-oriented development, the project will comprise a vertical village community and provide 24-hour site activation to complement the station’s continuous operation.
Urban Outcomes Director Natasha Possenniskie is acting as Engineer to the Contract for this exciting new development of Auckland, working alongside Engineer’s Representative RCP.
